[sometime after this mess, but before evening arrives, Joseph gets a phone call.
a very particular phone call.]
Jojo.
Where are you.
[josuke has tried his very best to pacify caesar between that revelation and this call. he definitely doesn't want to outright murder him anymore, at least, which is REALLY GREAT for everyone involved, but...
[ Joseph is hiding underneath the bed, endeavouring to be as still as he can. Though, a big bulky bara man under the bed is probably the worst idea especially since he could probably pass off as one of the Pillarmen in this pose. ]
[Probably some time after Caesar. It's your lucky day, Joseph.
Jotaro has been tinkering with the phone for most of the afternoon, and though he hasn't quite mastered it yet (hence a prolonged pause before he actually says anything), he's able to do this much on his own.
At least Holly's raised a smart boy.]
Where are you?
[There is a very.. distinct edge to Jotaro's tone. He's clearly pissed about something...]
Edited 2014-11-30 11:11 (UTC)
lets just assume this happens after caesar beat him up
[There's a moment wherein, he is nearly fooled. It's only for a moment, but it's long enough for him to pull the phone from his ear to stare at the screen.
But a second later, he's back on the line, and a little more forcefully, this time.]
[ Oh shit, Jotaro's mad. Joseph escapes through the window of his bedroom using Hermit Purple as a grappling hook. Totally going to hide up here with all the plants on the roof. ]
[And he fucking means it. Hanging up, Jotaro pockets his phone and starts homing in on block 20. He doesn't rush - and the wait is probably gruelling - so it's a good 10 minutes or so before Joseph can hear the front door of the entire block slam open, followed shortly after by the individual apartment doors, the last of which finally being Joseph's room, of course--
And it's empty? Well, empty yes, but it's far from quiet. There's a telling rustling of leaves coming from the window, and it's with a heavy sigh that he makes his way over there. There's nothing but silence in the ensuing seconds, but Joseph is going to suddenly feel something grasp his ankle rather tightly. Tight enough to hurt.
To think he'd be using Star Platinum on his own grandfather like this...]
[ He can feel Star Platinum's grip on his ankle, and he feels himself squirming. Joseph's deciding to hang onto the ledge with Hermit Purple and it's with a sigh that he calls out to the open window. ]
Hello grandson...
[ Joseph really doesn't want to see the expression on his face. ]
[ he's still travelling through the dark tunnels under the ground when he makes the call, and his voice is low and quiet and a little ragged, like he's already exerted himself quite a lot. there's something about it that's tinged with just a little frustration. ]
Joseph Joestar.
[ finding joseph is proving harder than he'd hoped, and running into opposition has lost him some time, but he's not giving up yet. joseph knows he's here, already — he's sure to know dio will be hunting him, but hermit purple is useless in this kind of darkness for both of them. well... isn't it about time he greeted him personally, after all that spying? they should stop beating around the bush. ]
Where are you.
[ do you feel popular joseph. look at all these people who want to spend time with you. ]
[ there's an unsure pause. sorry joseph, only rich people with electricity in their fancy houses have answering machine tapes, he has no fucking idea what you're trying to pull here...!! ]
Throwing away your own grandson, old man?
I'll get to him soon enough. Right now, it's you that I want.
[ there's the muffled sound of the world punching the shit out of a dirt wall in the background. it's a second or two before dio follows up again. ]
[ Shit man, being wanted by Dio is never a good feeling. He heard from Nanna Erina that her first kiss was stolen by Dio and he heard from Uncle Speedwagon that Dio was obsessed with Grandpa Jonathan even before he became a vampire.
Joseph feels the chill run through his body as he keeps the phone pressed to his ear, trying to sneakily move away from where he was at the minute. ]
You seem to know a lot about me, I thought I'd return the favour and learn more about you.
[ He's surprised his voice isn't shaking, but if there's anytime that bravado is needed on his part, it's now. ]
Oh?... How considerate of you to take an interest in me. Even if it's rather natural, it'd be a shame if that desire were one-sided.
[ the pounding in the background is getting more ferocious, the world's furious growls an undercurrent to the call and the sound of dio's soft breath. dio might keep his tone light, but his stand is showing his anger more than ever. the situation down here... it isn't going to last. something strange is going on, and he refuses to lose track of joseph before this is over.
he should have killed kakyoin quickly, he should've realised right then that he was nothing but a diversion, a way to slow him down and take him away from where the joestars were... it's his mistake.
he won't make it again. ]
Why don't you come here.
You must have many more questions, Joseph. I'll tell you anything you want to know.
You know, that charm may have worked on the other Stand users, but that won't work on me - I'm a married man!
[ Joseph's definitely blabbering to keep Dio distracted, he's still moving - though not entirely sure to where. He's moving further from where he and the rest of the Crusaders have set up camp, because there's no way he can lead Dio to them - even if having more Stand users would be helpful. ]
[ a couple days after the january event when he got shanked for getting too schmoozy with a girl, joseph has a guest. knock, knock at your apartment door. ]
[ It takes a little bit, but Joseph opens the door with a grin on his face. He's still looking a little puffy due to the effects of the poison, but otherwise, he looks like he's in good spirits. ]
Ah, Kakyoin! Come in!
[ He'll stand aside so that he'll be able to get into the apartment, holding the door open. ]
[ a polite little nod as he steps in, as proper as he always is around joseph. he's carrying a little bundle wrapped in ragged cloth -- an overly-large t-shirt he scavenged from somewhere -- and holds it a little uneasily at his side as he looks at joseph. ]
I heard you'd gotten into some trouble during the latest incident. Is everything okay now?
[ a soft exhale in lieu of a dry laugh. the way joseph puts it -- as if a stab wound is absolutely nothing worth worrying about -- is weirdly reassuring. figures that, regardless of age, joseph is still incredibly resilient. ]
I see. That's certainly a relief. Things got quite hectic for a while, didn't they.
[ he does follow joseph in, but doesn't take a seat just yet. ]
Actually -- I came to ask for your advice about something related to that incident. It's nothing urgent, but ... do you have any experience handling guns, Mister Joestar?

Hello? Joseph Joestar isn't here at the minute, so you can just leave a message...
voice;
Then you'd better get here, bastard. You do not want me to have to hunt you down.
[HE'S SERIOUS.]
voice;
[ He closes the line and dives for dear life. Joseph is currently hiding in their bedroom, underneath his bunk. ]
voice -> action;
About five minutes later, the door to their room slams open. Caesar, still seething, stomps right on in]
JOJO!
Rrrghh... I know you're still here! I heard you moving around!

Aaaa, Joseph Joestar isn't here at the minute, so you can just leave a message or alternatively search for Jotaro Kujo...

I do! Haven't touched one in ages but when I was younger it was part of the weaponry provided by a German friend and the Speedwagon Foundation.
[ But this does beg the question - ]
Why?
[ Does Kakyoin want to use a gun? The young man seemed competent enough with his Stand that he didn't need any other weaponry. ]
